The quest for a better tool clip began when an accidental dislodge caused my impact-driver to come off my tool vest. It fell from the roof and imploded on impact after narrowly missing my client’s 5-year-old granddaughter.

Having decades of construction experience, I knew there had to be a better solution than the hooks, tool holsters, and bit holders found in the marketplace. With help from a local engineer, we set on a journey to design simple, reliable, one-handed, professional-grade solutions to these problems. Solutions that fit tools universally without ruining the comfort and feel of the tool grip. A solution that locks tools easily to belts, pockets, toolbelts, chest rigs, MOLLE, and more yet requires no attachment device to be worn.

We gave prototypes to professional tradesmen to test on real jobsites in the USA and Canada and we listened to feedback to make improvements.

The quest to create a better way to secure and carry cordless tools has culminated in the Nöhlster Locking Tool Clip and GrüvNub Bit Holder. NOHLSTER’s intention is to make high-quality products that tradesmen are proud to use with their tools.
